What is wrong with 9 to 5? Nothing.

Yes, there is nothing wrong with a job 9 to 5 (time and duration could be different). Most of the people in the world are in some type of 9 to 5 job and the majority of them live a happy and satisfactory life with it. Just like any human, every worker has expectations which are generally not fulfilled, but that is true for all professions and occupation. For some, jobs could be exceptional, either too good or bad, it can be categorized as chance or luck. Even top opportunities cannot deliver everything desired, but that doesn’t make it repulsive.

For most, the positive aspects of 9 to 5 jobs always exceed the negatives.

In most cases, 9 to 5 jobs are not presented as exciting or desirable. Articles and books are overflowing with suggestions and motivations to shift from dreaded 9 to 5. Comparisons with the celebrity status of entrepreneurship abound, putting them at the revered status of ‘job givers’. No doubt, most people in jobs dream of becoming one. Some, even jump from airplanes without parachutes to explore the opportunities, only to fall flat on the ground.

Only 5% of new Indian businesses reach the fifth year successfully.

This propaganda never made sense to me. I think 9 to 5 jobs are beautiful, supporting most people to live a peaceful, decent and respectful life. This job gives them funds, routine, identity, expertise, balance, respect, confidence and their ability to be productive members of society.

The problems in any job are always resolved, just like the congested traffic on the road.

It is time that we stop training people to escape 9 to 5 jobs. No doubt, entrepreneurs are great, let’s start celebrating Intrapreneurs, working 9 to 5.
